So I passed my driving test two weeks ago and I'm in two minds about taking the Pass Plus lessons.

Does the certificate have any meaning in the current climate in terms of insurance discounts etc?

I'm 27 so I'm not sure if it would actually make much difference to insurance pricing. Its looking to be around £150 or so if I was to take the extra lessons to get the certificate.

Did you bother doing it - and if so did you find it worthwhile? :)

It was more-so for motorway driving but I practice that with an experienced driver.

It would probably make more sense to put the £150 towards insurance. My age doesn't seem to be making much difference though as I'm getting pretty silly quotes on pretty much most cars.

At 27! Either you live in a dodgy area or it's a brand new car.

Bordering E/F postcodes and the cars I am quoting are all 4/5 years old - 1.2 Polos etc.

Unless I am looking in the wrong places for quotes.... If you guys can recommend any companies that would be great. The high quotes are really putting me off.

I was planning on phoning around at the weekend and seeing if that makes any difference. Age doesnt seem to come into the equation as I've tried a few quotes with different ages and they all come out pretty much the same if you have held your licence for less than a year.

I'm going to have a look at a few cars on Monday so I'll see if I like anything else.
