I received a Pass/Unclassified degree for my BEng back in 2003 and would now like to do something in order to get a proper degree. Can anyone help with what my options are? I have emailed the uni - but as I don't live in the Midlands anymore then I may have to do some Distance Learning or a uni in London.

Thanks,

Did you not do your dissertation before, or just fail some modules?

I failed a number of modules - can't remember what exactly....I didn't have my head screwed on properly back then!

The Open Uni IT courses all seem to be geared towards software eng, which I don't really want to do.

Probably looking at re-doing the final year at least then. Fees are about 4k now? I don't think you'd need to pay anything over and above that but you won't get any help with it either.

Maybe speak to a local university about part time courses if your still working, doing it over 2 years would make it more affordable.

You'll just have to email some universities - they will give you points for your previous degree that could go towards gaining another degree.

Since it was seven odd years I go I don't think it will be as simple as just redoing the final year? You may have to do some ground work and that will vary for each uni no doubt.

If the OU doesn't have the modules you're after then perhaps try Birkbeck:
bbk.ac.k

or University of London external program

Birkbeck/University of London > Coventry tbh...
