Hi.

My dad wants to buy my brother a car as a graduation gift as he will be moving back to the uk in a couple of months. Im going to sell the scirocco I bought him.

So I need to find him a car, budge it a max of £10k. He is not too interested and does not have much of a opinion when it comes to cars. I want something comfortable, not too big and not too expensive to run.

I found this one.

The women says she bought it from the director of JTC600 when it was 6 months old with 20k on the clock. Last 2 services where not done by VW.
She says she works from home which is why its low milage but who knows.

Someone not interested in cars, and a diesel auto convertible is the proposal?

Perfect, go for it :D

lol its not a convertible. If he was into cars I would give him my old 335i but its just not worth the running costs on someone thats not too fussed about cars.

The probably is that he will rotate around different hospitals for the next 5 or so years so I have no idea how much he will be travelling over the next few years hence the diesel.

This is the last car we will buy him the next one will be his own problem.

Sorry to hijack this thread but I too am interested in a VW Passat CC. I have seen the following advert which I hope to look at during the weekend. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201304156269273/

When running insurance quotes and a HPI check the car is coming up as a VW Passat Sport TDI Coupe when it should be a VW Passat CC GT TDI, road tax is higher at £175 when it should be £140 (According to the Parkers website)

HPI brings back there were number plate changes and the mileage on the HPI checks out.

Is there something too good to be true with this car or is this a mistake when the car was first registered?

'Primewell' tyres, nice. Surely you can do better than that? What's GT about a Passat that takes 10 seconds to hit 60?

If you don't care about performance you can probably save money by avoiding a 'GT'. If you do care about performance you won't want a 140bhp 'GT'.

They look new so I expect the car came in with worn tyres and they've chucked the cheapest crap on they can get, which is annoying.
