I just did 4 days of direct access course.

Day 1: thunder, hail and lightening
Day 2: non stop torrential rain and very very cold
Day 3: gorgeous day
Day 4: test day - non stop heavy rain :)

Talk about a baptism by fire. I passed with 2 minors in each test. Fancy a cbr 600 rr - will find out whether insurance is prohibitively expensive tomorrow. Anyway, thought I would say hi!

Hi there and well done. A 600rr i would imagine be outrageously expensive as your first bike. Let us know what they come back with if you don't kind.

I'm 42 and compare the market is offering one quote with mce for 450 and the rest are 600. That's not outrageous is it? I'll have to phone them to find out what the impact of an aftermarket exhaust is as most of the bikes I have seen on autotrader have one. I bet they tear me a new one for that.

Have seen a cbr 600 rr7 with only 3k miles for £2700 private seller and also a rr9 abs with 30k miles for £3900 at a dealer. Both have fsh. What would up go for? I have no idea how much impact mileage has on a bike.

go for the 600rr,i would try and get a sit on one first though as they are more race orientated and you might be cramped on it

£450 is expensive imo,but roughly right saying you've only just passed

oh and you actually tell your insurance for a race pipe?:p;)

I'm sure you mean a non performance enhancing aftermarket exhaust ;)

Gratz, my early 98 hornet had a 600rr engine in it, was a right screamer with a non performance enhancing carbon aftermarket exhaust :D I'd try and have a sit/test ride on a couple of different engine styles il4, vtwin, parallel twin see what kind of power delivery you prefer before you take the plunge.

I passed my test and 7 days later jumped on a Fazer 600. I'm 26 and insurance was £190 :)

Per month? lol

What year?

I just paid an arm and a leg for my insurance on my Ducati Multistrada 1200S. So much, I'm afraid to say on here haha. Less than 4 figures though!

A quick question for you guys.

I passed my Mod 2 and now need to send my paper licence off to get it updated.
Do I need to send off the Mod 1 and Mod 2 certificates as well as my licence and passport etc?

(I have the D1 form btw)

heartbraking reading people say £450 for insurance is expensive :( Mines not too far off double that, being 21 on CBT and all.

Gratz on the pass, how much was it if you don't mind me asking? It seems didfficult to get a straight answer on google :( I'm thinking about going for my MOD1+2 in the spring

Mine's the same, was £595 for my little 2011 R125 on a CBT and I'm 25 and keep the bike garaged.

Gratz @OP, hopefully I'll be joining the land of the licensed too before too long.
