Took it out as soon as I got home from the test... and its amazing :o

Insurance was great aswell, £204 TPFT with £0 excess... (H&R insurance) oh how I love my postcode :)

Cheers all

Congrats, passed mine the other week as well, but still looking for a new bike.

Your bike is very nice, enjoy it. Would get one of those as my first big bike myself if I could afford, will probably get one after my licence is derestricted as my 2nd big bike.

Thanks all, will be riding very gingerly indeed and the 'loud' handle (as opposed to loud pedal) is very responsive... I know I have to be careful and never lose concentration.

Off away with work on Sunday for 2 weeks solid and need to take my camper van really :(
Such a shame I just want to ride it! The weather looks good for tomorrow so off to HG in Leeds to get a tank bag and some boots and see what else takes my fancy.

Cheers all :)

EDIT for macapacca

Well done, how was the test?

To start with it was a long day really, my test was at 3:30pm but I had been practicing with my instructor all morning from 9:00am. Test was pretty simple and lasted approximately 30mins. Firstly I had questions on how to check if your brake's are working, and a 'show me' how to check brake lights are working. I went out around York, onto A roads B roads and then into town with some mini roundabouts making sure to always be doing my 'life saver' checks... As I was happily plodding down a 30mph street some woman decided to pull out on me which forced me to break quickly. I got a minor for this. I also got two minors for moving over left too early when planning to take a left turn and in his words 'almost trying to be too perfect' lol, other than that he said I had a safe ride and he knew I was going to pass after two minutes which was a nice thing to hear :). All in all just keep concentrating, relax and just get head turning for mirrors and observations!

My recent experience would lead me to say to you, set your budget and set a distance on auto trader that you are happy travelling to go fetch the bike, for me it was 40 miles as I got the guy to ride it to mine so I could take him home. If you have access to a suitable van/trailer then increase your distance. You may of course know some kind person that's willing to ride it back for you :)

Buy on condition... look for private sales as often you will get more for your money - although no warranty but does that matter? If you don't really know what you want yet you should pick up 'used bike guide' I think it's called from big news agents like WHSm.... (can i say that on here?:D) that have mini reviews of pretty much all popular bikes in it with a rough price guide to boot.

Hope this is of some use and good luck for Monday! ;)

well done mate, that bike looks as though its come straight from the factory, very clean example.

Congrats on the win, and seconded!
Tank bag will be most useful, you can throw your wallet, phone, drink, sandwitches, bible in there and just go!

Thanks for the positive comments :)
Took a ride down to leeds this morning to Hein Gericke store. I got a tank bag, some nice alpinestars boots. I also fitted red rim tape (win) and crash bungs that I had delivered earlier in the week.

As it is now;

I also have some oxford bullet LED indicators but I am not confident in messing with wiring and such things... does anyone have any experience with this? cheers
