I went for my driving test at 11.20 today and passed with 9 minors :) . I'm soooo relieved right now its unbelievable, i really thought i had failed on a large roundabout near the beginning of the test. He said it was a nice drive apart from that and he could see it was just nerves so he let it slide :) . The last instructor i had was very strict and didn't take nerves into consideration so i think she would have failed me on that. My instructors car managed to stay in one piece for this test as well lol.

I also only just got there in time as my instructor thought my test was at 11.40  , so we had to just drive straight there without any warm up maneuvers.

Ive decided to take my Pass Plus so i should be driving in 2-3 weeks time. I went for 2 x 3 hour lessons spread over 2 weekends.

Now i think ill start looking for my first car :) .

A worryingly n00b-ish mistake from an instructor, but congrats anyways!
Why was it n00b-ish?, he could see i was a safe driver and clicking my left indicator when it canceled itself was just down to nerves. I told him afterwords that i have been on the same roundabout many times before and done it perfectly. He just said he wasn't 100% happy with it but it wasn't enough to fail me on.

I suppose 9 minors is quite high?, i got 2 minors on my mock test yesterday but i wasn't nervous then.

Thanks everyone.

Sorry Memphis, for some reason i thought you were referring to the examiner :/. Must have been all the excitement :D . I agree with you on that, he should have known the times off by heart really, I would have been annoyed about it if i had failed.

I think it really helped having a 2 hour lesson last night after work. As the roads were pretty much dead we drove around all the test routes and he pointed out things that can catch pupils out. He told me to look out for hidden speed signs, theres a 50 zone that then turns into a 30 zone before a roundabout. The signs are partially covered by bushes and he said many pupils fly past it at 45 mph in mock tests.

Another thing he told me to look out for is a zebra crossing immediately after turning at a junction. He said a lot of pupils also get caught out here as they're checking their mirrors after turning the corner and don't see people waiting at the side.

I went past both these areas on my test :D , plus it was near enough the exact same route as my last test. But we turned off on a quiet road to do emergency stop this time round.

I thought i had failed when i was doing reverse park. I misjudged when to put the right turn on and the back tire just nudged the curb. I didn't say anything, put the car into 1st gear and drove back out then back into reverse and put full lock on, ended up perfect.

As for my first car I'm not sure what to get yet. I'm quite tall so a really small hatch wont be ideal. I was thinking of getting a Focus as thats what Ive been learning in and it seems quite decent.

Most of my mates did it and said it was worth while and made them more confident on the motorway. It'll pay for itself anyway so if it helps to further my skills then it can only be a good thing. Plus its only another 2 sessions and then I'm done :D .

Like that statement :D

I have my test monday at 11:20. Not nervous yet, but no doubt i will be.

Well done :D
Nice time :D , the roads were nice and quiet as it just misses the lunch traffic. I managed to filter into most roundabouts without stopping.

Good luck.
