x2 3800+ @ 2.6, 1.4v

temps all ok.

Passes Mem test and can do super PI, but will blue screen when i play CSS.

Any sugestions?

ye it failed prime very quickly (test 1) :(

Iv knocked it back to 1.5 and HTT x 4 (had it at 3) - now it seems fine (well it hasent failed yet test 4)

So what has this told me? - ie what should i do to move forward? i liked 2.6 :p

It is probably is in need of more volts as suggested by welshtom but it might also be power supply, you will be pulling more power whilst gaming.

Just a thought so it might be worth checking voltage rails too.

I took it right back to 2.2 cos i know its stable at that but they dont look the best in those graphs

What do u lot think:

This seems too far out for my taste?

The 12Volt is not as bad as it looks as its only 0.64% out. My Hyper 580W has a 0.5% variation and its okay.

What RAM are you using. I found my overclocks were much better with G.Skill ram than my older generic stuff even though it passed memtest without errors. Suddenly could get 2.6 stable whereas before I was stuck at 2.2Ghz.

Iv got Geil 2GB PC3200 (This stuff) was running it a 166 to get above 2.2.

At work just now so cant rember all the stuff but i not good with RAM so have just left it basicly std apart from the divider.

up the voltage a notch at 2.6

1.45v

Tom

Seriously you will need to follow Tom's advice. I'm fairly sure thats why your clock is unstable. Give it a go, but watch the temps. Good luck.

not stable at 2.6 @ 1.45v

got a new cooler Frezer 64Pro, works very well, sitting at 40* at full load 2.6 @1.45v. It comes unstable at 2.65 so think ill just keep it here for a while.

But.....if i was to go further how far can i push the V-Core?

My vcore sits at 1.504 according to CPU-Z (altho there is always inaccuracy with these software voltage monitors) and is happy enough :) I put even more voltage thru my previous venice, around 1.6v I seem to remember, cooled by an Thermalright XP120.
