Passive cooler question

hi everyone!

i have a 3850 0c to the max via the catalyst advanced tab and it runs fine except for the loud stock HSF that came with it.

i am convinced that its crap to be honest because the heat goes up to 70 degrees after a while and did i mention that its really, really loud :-)

i have an antec 900 case with an xilence fan on the side intake so what i really want to know is if i got a passive cooler, does anyone agree that the side fan would be enough to keep it cooler than about 60 degrees? or should i consider a different HSF?

any comments are appreciated :-)

hmmm im not sure it would be enough it may require more direct cooling. most after markt gfx coolers are quieter than the stock and cool better than the stock of course.

guess it depends just how close the side fan is to it, it would def be enough to cool it just dont know if it would keep it under 60 underload unless the side fan is very close.

does the Accelero S1 fit the 3850? i only ask because its not on the parts compatibility list on the ocuk website.
