Passport renewal.

I was going to apply for a new Passport, but then I needed my Driving Licence- Which I cannot find, and to get a replacement Driving Licence I needed a Passport.. Genius system!
 
Heard on the radio today it takes 6 weeks to get a new passport and young people applying for they're first adult passport may be required to attend a face-to-face interview?????????????? That seems a tad Draconian.

You are correct on the second part. However I got my new passport in 4 days and the last one a week and a half. I have never had to wait for more than 2 weeks for a passport.
 
the passport cost so much because we like to bend over and touch our toes for the yanks :mad:

It's ONLy the US that want all this biometric stuff. I think you should be allowed the choice ie a 35 quid passport without the bio stuff but requiring a visa to get to the US or 72 quid for the US ready one. Forcing people to have this bio stuff on their passport to go to paris for a day trip it ludicrious.

2011. :D

I went to Peterborough to get mine in 2001. Wasn't because they wanted to see me but because I needed the passport quicker. :)

Don't think the current rules about interviews were in force then.

There was some bloke arguing with one of the passport officers there. It seemed it was her fault for him filling his form out wrong. :D
