Not sure what you fully mean but if you want to upload a file you can password protect it using Winzip/WinRaR.

If you host an FTP server you can do that. Only those that have the credentials can log in and download/upload files.

Only way I can see you doing that is by making the FTP directory where the file is stored only available to passworded accounts.

Beaten to it again. Damn you Cybermyk :p

I mean when you download a file in internet explorer, so basically no one else can download stuff on my pc without the correct password. At the moment I have the "file download" disabled in ie option, and its just a pain enableing it when i want to download something, then disableing it again after... It would be loads easier if I can have it passworded.

Or even better no one uses my pc. Like my sister today was going to change the settings in ie options Grrrrr. So ive hiddden all the important tabs in ie options... Why cant ppl leave stuff alone and just use the dam thing, or tell me before changing stuff????

They need to use my pc but i just dont like ppl changing and downloading stuff without asking first.

I would have been really ****** if she had change the ie settings, cos I have just done a complete reinstall. She was going to override the cookie settings, cos she was trying todo something in palpal, and it said to override the cookies in ie options.. But it might of helped if she was logged in to the account first..dohhhh

Setup user accounts then - You can turn off downloads on her profile and password protect your login :)
