Password managers: Do you use one?

Never needed a password manager - I just remember them, and the ones I cannot, I just reset them; never felt this process needed improving on.

It's not so much for remembering them it's to allow you to use 'cryptic' long passwords without having to note them down especially when your getting into the 20+ character ones.

Mine are all pretty much at or very near the 20 character mark - upper case, lower case, numbers and symbols. Typically obscure words, but things I can recall.

I decided to get up and running with 1password for two reasons.

1) Passwords stored on two different browsers (Safari and Chrome)
2) Several logins indicated to be compromised on haveibeenpwned

It took me several hours to move all my passwords across and regenerate any duplicates. I love that it can store 2FA codes so now if I switch phones I don't have to worry about setting up authenticator apps again. It even adds the authenticator code to your clipboard so you can paste it when logging in. Once that's done it restores whatever was previously in your clipboard. I love tools like this!

I use KeepPassX. Not the most convenient because it's offline but I also feel it's more secure that way. Unless of course someone literally gets access to my pc though they'd still need the password to my database.
