password problems

hey guys im trying to install my wireless dongle on my new comp. and basically i am with sky and i have an 8 digit passcode. all the different types of password dont work with it,they say things like not sufficient digits
any help on this? =]

Password for what? Connecting to the Wireless. - If you go into your router setting it should be WPA or WPA2.
I'm not sure but you may have to have Letters and Numbers maybe even Symbols.

its my network key. its 8 digits long but windows keeps asking for a 5 or 13 digit password
im connected on another computer fine, i dno if i need to update windows before it will let me put the 8 digit in, i dno

If it's asking for 5 or 13 digits, you have it set to use WEP.
