Password protecting drive

Hi,

I backup to an external usb hard disk and was wondering whther it is possible to put a password on the whole drive?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Also would using file and folder compression have any hinderance for running a backup drive? I would have thought it would only decrease the speed.

Arh I should have explained id rather just do it via windows and not via 3rd party tools. I have a feeling its probably not possible.

I should have had a better google though.

With just native windows I dont believe it is possible.
