Password Protecting Folders

Hey guys, I have searched google and other websites for a solution but i have had no luck so far.
I currently live in a student house with some friends, and I have an external drive shared via homegroup and an internal drive shared, this is so they can watch all my movies and tv shows on their own computers, my issue is that a couple of my friends have tablets and phones that can access all the drives and folders in my pc.

I want to be able to password protect a folder on my external drive (currently sharing one movies folder inside) because it contains important documents of mine, and details of my parents business that I do not want to be seen by others, Is there a way to do this in windows or will I have to get a different program? There is also a copy of this folder on an internal drive which i want to protect also (external drive is used for backup)

Thank you for your help, sorry if this is in the wrong part of the forum, if it is I will happily move it :)

Thanks for the responses, I have only shared the movies folder within the drive, but the mobile devices have apps that can access the other folders.
I will take a look at Axcrypt thank you

Sod that, make a truecrypt container and put your important stuff in there. Nobody will get near it then.

Look into it, sounds ideal for what the OP needs.
