Why do you assume it's not backed up?
Hopefully they haven't responded as it's currently in top secret discussion behind the scenes and they don't want to get our hopes up
I'm sure it would require a decent amount of extra coding in order to port any existing add ons or coding to XenForo, but it would definitely be worth it.
A few things off the top of my head would be the trust system. I think there are two 3rd party feedback systems available, how suitable they would be I'm not sure.
The trust here ties into emailing users and protects the recipients email address unless they reply. This would probably require an add on. Unless they used the personal conversation system, which would be nice.
I'm not sure why they don't have it active on here, perhaps to relieve themselves of responsibility of storing private messages on their server so they don't have to deal with them, which is fair enough.
I'm guessing it would need an add-on to tie in with the main site too to enable free shipping for loyal members.
They'd need to port over the keyword highlighter that links to products/companies on the main site when written in posts.
Would need an add on for the mafia avatars, but I can't imagine that would be very difficult as it's just displaying an image based on post count.
I can't think of any other obvious features on this site though, unless there's a lot of other stuff installed behind the scenes.
It would be so nice to make the switch. For a company that prides themselves on catering to the computer and tech enthusiast, the tech behind the forum certainly doesn't portray the best image. (Granted it's still probably one of the best/cleanest vBulletin site I've used).
One of the members here is a staff member at XF and carries out conversions from other forums software professionally. He's worked on some very big boards. So I'm sure if they needed some advise on how to proceed he could guide them. Now that I think about it, I think he even developed or commissioned one of the XF trust systems too.
