Passwording folders.

Hi guys,

Im into my fourth week of Uni now and have a few things on my mind.

A friend suggested writing a diary to help get them off my chest which seems like a good idea. However I dont want anybody to just stumble in and read it so a passworded folder seems like a good idea!

Does anybody know of some free software for this? Im just after passwording folders and am not worried about encrypting my hard drive and all that jazz.

Why don't you write it in Word and use the password feature in that?

I didnt realise word has a password feature! Ill look into that thanks

microsoft private folder

if you forget the password, you're screwed though

Word passwords are also easily crackable. Depends how secure you want them to be. Save them to a USB stick and keep it away from your computer?

Or lock your computer everytime you leave it

Im not looking to make my computer Fort Knox as it would only be friends nosing through my computer. theres nothing incriminating going into it, so its not the end of the world if it gets read, but ive passworded it, and will put it into a microsoft private folder too

You could always save it as a ZIP folder and add a password to the ZIP Folder??

Best way is to just put them on a cheap usb pen mate.
