Past, present, or future?

To quote the late, great Cormac McCarthy;

"You think when you wake up in the mornin yesterday don't count. But yesterday is all that does count. What else is there? Your life is made out of the days it’s made out of. Nothin else."

"The present moment is the only realm of existence over which you have direct influence. While the past is fixed and beyond alteration, the future is a branching path shaped by your current choices and actions. It is within this fleeting intersection of time that your agency resides, setting the course for what may come, but never fully determining it, as it is intertwined with the actions and decisions of others and subject to the inherent uncertainty of life." - GigaGandhi circa 1945

The past, always dwell on it and never look forward.

I understand this well. I know it’s not the means to a better end either. I know I should focus on the present. But I’ve lost so much in the past few years due to health problems, and now the past is the place I regularly wish I could visit.

For me the future is the most important , mainly because I’m mid 30s and I think I wasted a lot of my early life doing stupid stuff. I plan to make up for it with a better future . Don’t want to be one of these people that pine for the past and get stuck in a rut .
