He's not leaving Williams, just moving to non F1 focused areas of the company, but still.

However, I have been saying for a while that the 'old men' of Williams are loosing touch and should maybe stand aside and let some young blood in to drive the team forwards. Hopefully they can bounce back from what has been a disappointing downwards spiral.

The Williams Hybrid technology is great though. Flywheel based KERS that have been used in Porsche endurance cars with great success.

Pity to see Head leave the pit lane (as was said over the weekend he was a leading voice in FOTA)

Not sure if Williams (F1) issues were just design or the Cosworth engine as well, but at least they are back with Renault as of next season.

It was announced in FP2 I think when Eddie had a word with him (Think its been known for a while just no ones mentioned it)

Sad to see him leave as he's a nice guy really but he's had a good run in the game either way

Always liked Patrick Head, seems like a top bloke, one of my favourite team personnel.

Hopefully he will turn up to some races now and again like he said he would.

More importantly though hopefully this is the start to a positive new start for Williams.

Not the sort of guy you want to get on the wrong side of, but a top chap.

I think he can be legitimately put into the engineering greats of F1.

I saw him up close at Barcelona once, I so wanted to talk to him but he had this permanent angry look on his face. Completely unapproachable, brilliant in his day but his driver treatment leaved a lot to be desired :D

I think it was pretty spot on. You don't perform, you get yelled at. :D

Haha he must have done a lot of shouting at himself lately!

Some drivers these days need more than that to get the best out of them, maybe they shouldn't after all they are paid enough money to perform but people have better techniques to get better work out of their employees than that these days, well I hope yours does :D

Still it's better than the driving lessons Stewart tried to give Magnesson, how embarassing was that. Amazing to think that he was paired with Rubens at Stewart.

When you look at the simplicity of the last williams cars to win titles you can see why Head got left behind. The difference aerodynamically on just the front wing is mind blowing compared to todays cars.
