Hello everyone!,

I've not posted here for I while. I hoped someone might just be able to help me with a quick fix for my memory problem...

Currently I have this 'Patriot Viper Series 1600Mhz Triple Channel memory configured at 12GB (6 2GB sticks) and I have always had some trouble getting it to run at the rated speed of 1600Mhz....

I've had this computer for some time now and Indeed it has been a FANTASTIC computer for gaming and 3D work... Really I just wanted some help from someone who understands the i7 platform on which settings would be applicable to change increase to try and get this running at the rated speed.

Currently I have the memory running at 1333Mhz at Stock settings, 1.65v, 8.8.8.24

My system settings are...

i7 950 D0
Asus P6T7 WS X58 LGA1366
12GB 1600Mhz Viper
x2 ATi 6870's
1000W PSU

Voltages
CPU - 1.2v Stock
DRAM - 1.65v Stock
uncore/ QPI 1.2v Stock
CPU PLL 1.8v Stock

Basically I have tried running the XMP Profile for 1600Mhz which is not stable so then I tried upping the DRAM Voltage to 1.68v I didn't want to go higher than this because of the limit on the i7 IMC. Really I would just like some advice on what to change or what might be good to change like the timings or just some advice on what would be safe to try on the voltage etc...

If I can't get it to run at rated then, 1333Mhz is ok I suppose I would just like to get that little extra and also get what I paid for haha.... Also if I was to change the memory. Do I need to run triple channel? I don't see many triple channel kits these days.....

Thanks for any help

So I played around with the memory a little and basically it will just not run at 1600Mhz!!! It drops out at Post so sometimes shows all 12GB then 8GB sometimes 4GB.... and I get errors on PRIME95....

I tried it at the following settings,

DRAM Voltage - 1.68v .... (+.3v)
uncore QPI - 2.7125 .... (+.2125) From 2.5000 which is default for 1.65v memory...
These keeps it within the .5v Limit which is recommended for i7??

I tried both,

8.8.8.24 - Default
9.9.9.27 - (+1)

Still the memory had errors on PRIME95..... So now I have it running at....

1333Mhz 1.65v with 7.7.7.21, 1T PRIME95 Stable. So I guess for the loss of 288Mhz I gained better timings....

Would it be possible to manually set the ram to run at say 1533Mhz at 8.8.8.24?? while keeping the CPU at around 3200 - 3400Mhz ?? this way I could get a little extra from the ram but keep it under the 1600Mhz limit at which point it becomes unstable at every setting it seems.....
