If a pair of these 4400 kits were paired up and downclocked to 3600/3733 (so as not to mess with the infinity fabric), what sort of timings do you think would be pretty easy to achieve without too much tweaking? Something like 16,16,16,36?

Any reason why you don't stock the 3733 Viper Steel?

3733 is not B die.

3866 upwards are B die and well I got the 4000 kits for less than 3866 so just made sense to stock the 4000 and 4400 models in B Die.

In theory the kits should down clock fine and if you get particular good IC than 15-16-16-35 can be possible at 3600 otherwise 16-16-16-36 or if again you get unlucky then 16-18-18-42 all at 3600.

Always remember to fine tune other sub timings too and use Ryzen master.

Yeap, I realize 3733 is not B-die but as far as I gather it's the perfect speed for Ryzen, a touch better than 3600.

Still undecided whether to get some 4400 and downclock with better timings or just buy the 3600/3733 and leave it. Both the Viper Steel 3600/3733 have very reasonable stock timings and I'm really not into tweaking that much where RAM is concerned. The 8Pack would be better but I guess I've missed the boat on any deals for that RAM this side of 2020.

The none B die vipers don’t clock or tune as well.

Better of buying 4000 or 4400 Vipers and then down clocking them to 3600-3733 with as tight as you can make the timings.
