I seem to be having a problem with my ram. for the last 8 months I have been running this ram at 2.5 4 3 7 at 285Mhz. recently it seemed to become unstable so I tried dropping the timimgs to 3 4 4 8 which used to work. It would not let me boot windows and I get 1000's of errors in memtest. The only settings it will let me run at now without errors in memtest are default which is 200Mhz 2 3 2 5. I thought this was the memory controller on my 3700 san diego giving up after being run at 2850Mhz for 8 months. I have recently got an opty 165 which I thought would solve the problem but I can only get the ram to work and not prime stable at 2.5 4 3 7 timings and no other. I can use these timings at upto 300Mhz not stable.

Has anybody had this happen to them? Could it be the motherboard chipset even though the mem controller is on the processor.

Only 2.7V. Being TCCD it does not really like high volts. They always worked best at 2.7V. I have tried putting more through them but I get errors in Memtest.

Ok ive had TCCD chips do this to me..

I had them solid at 300mhz 2.5-3-3-6 once then they started to play up and fail memtest at cas 2.5 and Cas 3. However when i lowered to Cas2 at 200mhz they were solid.

Its the Ram mate thats faulty. I sent mine back for a RMA. Also TCCD chips can actually get stuck at Cas2 when they are overvolted ie 3v +.

Hope this Helps.

Good luck

Cheers for that mate. I thought I was going mad  . I'll RMA them and hopefully the ones they replace them with will be just as good.
