I am selling my car tommorow, of which i am insured with it through ecarinsurance.

I dont have a car to replace it with, but i desperately want to keep the policy going to get my first NCB (will get it in october).

Insurance companies phone lines are shut now hence me posting, generally will insurance companies let you "hibernate" your policy and let it tick over without a car on it?

Or will i have to find some mate with a car thats off the road and transfer it to that?

Cheers.

Why don't you buy a cheap old runabout in the meantime? If you spend £200-£300 you can't really lose much.

I might have a Fiesta 1.1 logbook you can "insure"

Argh no, scratch that, I haven't. Got a 205 GTI one though, but that probably won't be cheap enough to be worthwhile.

Im just about to sell the runaround i have for £300 lol, needs to go before its runs out of MOT and faills on it in september.

It is perfectly possible to suspend a policy - my father did it with Direct line in between selling his old Golf to me (which I bought in May) and the replacement car arriving in September. They just refund on a pro-rata basis the premium to your account and then when you take out the new policy they will credit that amount towards the new car.
