Pavement pounding / Walking shoes?

Ok, maybe not entirely "sports" related but GD scares me.

My Karrimor Meridian shoes have finally given up, soles are OK, uppers have saw better days.

I wear them every day pretty much when doing the school run, walk about 2 miles a day in them as well as when going out for walks/camping etc.

Have served me well, fantastic waterproofing yet comfy enough for day to day wear.

Any recommendations to replace them?

Just not sure how comfy they would be in the summer in hot weather.

Got it.

Anyone able to comment on if they would be comfortable in the summer?

Also, with young kids, all the running/football and rolling around etc that entails.
