Pay snafu- do I have to wait until next month for the correction?

Thanks for the advice everyone. Finally managed to pin down payroll again and they've accepted it was their mistake. At first though they seemed to be content with the idea that it would all shake out in my pay next month, but were then good enough to reimburse me the mistake directly when I asked and explained the financial bind it would leave me in.
