so my gf went to my bank yesterday while i was at work to pay in 60 pound in 2 pound coins(3 bags of 10) she got there and the woman said we dont take coins any more, you can only pay in notes but i will take them this one time.

so all the pennies etc i save in a tub over the years that i pay in every so often, i now cant and looks like i have to take them to that machine in asda to get them changed into notes. that cost 8p per pound.

so it seems ive got to pay 8p for every pound i save.

anyone elses bank do this?

next time i go in and they say that im just gonna close the account and get a new bank because thats the only time i pay in money personaly so i need them to take coins

my bank is halifax btw.

Halifax DO allow you to deposit coins, they just prefer you to do like 3 bags a time or something silly.
