I've been following this for a bit after the RPS preview. It's looks perfect for when my usual foursome has finished with Dead Island. I'll wait for post launch reviews though I think.

It will, it will be like L4D, where you have a casual laugh with your mates, and if it did allow players to control the Feds, wouldn't it basically be another CounterStrike?

I'm not sure where you get that from. It looks more like TF2 than CoD:MW. Obviously it mostly looks like L4D (almost identical if you allow for the difference in story).

I might pick it up, it strikes me as though it'd be dull in SP and I don't really have any PC gaming friends (apart from WoW addicts) so probably wouldn't be worth it for me.

I dunno, different price bracket, different gameplay style, I don't think the two are really competing with each other. It's probably more underthreat from pricecuts on older games (L4D, Kane & Lynch, GTA...) that AAA behemoths like BF3.

Why do people insist on BF3 being the only game worth buying this year?

I could not give a flying **** about BF3 and am happily looking forward to Pay Day for what it is.
