Hi guys!
It is payday Friday and I might finally be in a position where I can actually spend some money on myself!
I recently moved into a new flat and had to basically ransack my recording studio in order to equip the place. This is not ideal as I still do work in the studio as a producer and have to keep lugging hardware back and forth all the time.
To cut a long story short I am after a 27" screen to replace my current Dell Ultrasharp 2407WFP (which should be in the studio) but have some questions regarding whether or not the Hazro HZ27WC is the right screen for me?
Check out my front room in my flat:
As you can see I have the Dell on the table which is used for games requiring mouse and keyboard. My GTX 580 is also plugged into the LG 32LH3000 which has the benefit of my nice surround sound. This is great for sitting on the sofa and playing games with the controller or watching movies with the missus.
My issue at the moment is that I currently have the displays set up as 'extended'. Therefore, if I wish to play a game on the sofa, in front of the TV and with surround sound I have to go into the 'screen resolution' tab by right clicking on the desktop (Win 7 x64) and selecting the 'duplicate' setting (whilst setting the Dell's screen res to 1920 x 1080 as it's native is 1920 x 1200).
This is a bit of a mission and I realise that a 27" with a native res of 1920 x 1080 would be better suited with my TV.
The only problem is I would love to try an IPS screen (like the Hazro) as I have heard mostly good things and I seem to perpetually upgrade my graphics card so gaming at 2560 x 1440 shouldn't be too much of a problem in the future.
Am I missing something here? Is there actually a much easier way of duplicating the screens but keeping each one's native resolution intact so that I don't have to keep switching video options if I want to play a game on the TV or vice versa?
If there is I presume I can go ahead and buy the Hazro on Friday when I get paid?! Is it a good step up from the Dell?
Alternatively should I be looking at 120hz screens? I love the idea of trying 3D too...maybe the ASUS 27" VG278H screen which is on the horizon would be better?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers in advance!
Tom
