PAYG sim that doesn't expire

I'm after a PAYG sim that I can put in a phone and leave in my glovebox as an emergency phone.
I don't want to have to load it with credit at the point I may need it so all of the ones I've seen where credit expires after 30 days are no use.

Do any of the operators do sim cards that don't lose credit if they are not used?

If you scroll right to the bottom of this page it says:

As a backup phone, the o2 pay-as-you-go packages are good as there is no expiry time on your credit, hence you don’t lose out.

Don't know if that helps at all.

you will need to make a call once every 90 days to keep the number active
or they give the number away to someone else
