Paying NHS dentist paying direct into his personal account?

So managed to get registered with this NHS dentist and had first appointment today. Probably won’t be going back and stay with my private one as felt like he was doing speed run dentistry. He did the cleaning with the same drill he used for a small filling in under 3mins. Anyhow that’s beside the point.

My question is, is it normal to pay for NHS treatment direct into the dentists personal bank account. They only accepted cash or bank transfer?

No been open for decades, although the main dentist who ran it retired and this new dentist has been running the practice over 5 years

Possibly also scamming the NHS. Sounds well dodgy and worth a report.

That’s what I was thinking, just declaring everyone as non paying / on benefits and getting paid by the NHS and banking the payments direct to him.
