Just tried twice to buy a used Fuji XF 2.4 60mm with 12 months warranty and failed due to some sort of 3d security system process? Really peeved about this as I ended up going to Clifton Cameras as a consequence, to purchase the same item, using the same security system, without any issue or problem at all? Unfortunately Clifton only offer 6 months warranty on a "mint" graded item. :(

You would do better ringing them than posting here

Bit of a rant I suppose. I have actually rang them to complain /let them know about the issue just in case they were not aware. They also don't allow purchase by phone on amounts over £100.00

Why didn't you just use Paypal as the payment option and use your card through their system?

Yeah I did see that as an option but was too tired and frustrated to do it that early in the morning with a bit of a "brain fudge" coming on. I also thought there might have been an added charge for the pleasure. Shall bear it in mind for future reference though.

I'm actually very surprised that Paypal don't require the 3D secure authentication thingy on each transaction.

The card issuers have added several measures to prevent fraud, so you now need the card number, expiry date, CVV digits on the back of the card and a random selection of characters from the 3D secure thing.

With Paypal, it's all behind a single password. If that gets compromised, anyone can use your account to pay for things and, with the number of places accepting Paypal increasing dramatically all the time, this seems like a mistake to me.
They ought to rotate and randomise the letters (of the pswd). What really grated with me was the message I received after the transaction had failed : "we will contact you within five minutes to check the transaction was authorised by yourself x2", and nobody bothered?
