Hey guys, im sat here minding my own buisness and i get a mail saying ive sent money to some guy ive never heard of...i did NOT do this, OR even click any links at all, Now i went to the paypal website and it has indeed sent money out of thin air, how on earth is that even possible..email address of the guy is [email protected] if anyone can find owt about this. In the meantime whats my best action to take?

Mods - Thread served its purpose - Sorry for the pointless thread, should have been common sense what i should have done, but 72 hours with little sleep is catching up with me (moving house).

Change password
contact paypal explaining the situation
if the money came off a credit/debit card cotact the company and stop the money going out

Nope Thunderbird does a good job of catching all the spoofs, and all the trusted address's are added to my address book so hardly no chance at all...the amount was for £20 with me paying the fee's..yet i was watching TV on the computer at the time of the email and alledged transaction - Anyway dispute open, password changed (had the same password for almost 4 years now) any real point in ringing Halifax?

yeah, halifax are really good, i got £140 spent on trainline.com they had it sorted very fast for me

Ok done, Halifax cant do anything yet, its in the hands of paypal, thanks guys, i just got confused and its late so needed a push in the right direction to get it sorted, so thanks.

Mods - Can be deleted or Locked as this is now sorted thanks to cupra and shakeel.
