A few weeks back I sold a modem on Ebay. The user turned out to be dodgy but luckily other ebay users warned me that he would buy things and then put a hold on the Paypal charge. I think it was to do with dodgy credit cards.
So cut to today and paypal ask me about the hold, asking me what I want to do. I selected the 'admit liability' button because I never sent the goods out.
So paypal gave the CC company the money back...and chaged me a fee...of £7.
Is this normal? Should I have contested it? (contesting the charge would have involved proof of sending, etc).
