PayPal Environments - Sandbox vs Beta Sandbox

Quick question, as Google isn't returning a definitive answer; what's the main difference between the Sandbox and Beta Sandbox environments?

At a guess I'd say the Sandbox is the current implementation/API, whilst the Beta is the next (i.e. Beta) version.

Have they not documented it within the new beta sandbox? It's been a while since I even used the old one.

hate paypal sandbox, spent days trying to fix something with IPN, only to realise that sandbox + live behave differently. ended up having to make a load of products 1p and then test with real money

Not holding out much hope for the beta tbh

So would i be right in thinking that the beta-sandbox is simply the newest (unreleased) beta version of the API? Where as the Sandbox environment is the same as the production?

Mort - Did you spot any other issues apart from IPN?

nope, that was it as far as I could tell. was a few months ago now so hoping it would have been fixed, was def a bug as other ppl on the forums were saying the same

I had a play around with the IPN stuff in the sandbox and its not massively reliable. Luckily I haven't had to use it for a while. The basic express checkout NVP stuff is very simple and thats all we have had to use for a while now. It covers most use cases such as recurring payments.
