Firstly I have been having problems with ebay, every time I use it on our other machine at home on the same line, I get an email from the saying "blah blah, your password has become known to another party", and I have to go through the reset procedure. This has happened over and over, and I have had to restrain myself to the one machine.


More recently, I bought something from a US seller (that ships to the UK) for about $392. I paid using my CC through Paypal. About 6 days later I get an email

Dear undefined,

As part of our security measures, we regularly screen activity in the
PayPal system.

We have observed activity in this account that is unusual or
potentially high risk.

Yes, it says undefined. It also has a case number in it etc. So I go off and log into paypal myself (not using any links in the email, which it doesnt have anyway) and indeed there is a problem.

Your account access has been limited for the following reason(s):

14 Oct. 2006: Recent account activity has made it necessary for us to collect additional verification information.

And the case number matches.

It wants this info to unlock my account.

I have received another email today with the worst part, ive checked the site again and the 2 above items have "Information Submitted" for the status which I swear wasnt there before. Note this account already has a bank account setup on it.

If I check the history for the payment to this seller and the debit from my credit card, they are all set as completed, im waiting for a reply from the seller on if they have received the payment yet.


I was just about to outline the 2nd email but I have just realised what the problem is.

The email domain names for these accounts are:

<email address> - this is the email address of an old account some user tried to scam me on (I posted here about it) and paypal wanted nothing of it, and I after a long time, blocked the payment with my bank. This was 18 months ago.

In order to resolve the negative balance on the account, please send a check, cashier's check or money order for $380.23 EUR to:

I dont really know what the question is now, I doubt this will be resolved as I have tried before.
