We have a premier account with them and have had this account for about 6 years. 3 months ago they decided to limit the sending of money until we confirmed another card to the account and this went on for 3 weeks back and forth as we only have one bank card.
Yesterday we got an email asking us to logon to the account, change passwords, update contact info and to authorize a transaction for the 1st July. Now we have not done a transaction for that day and when you click the resolve button you get "Invalid or missing transaction ID. Please select again."?????? So I need to resolve a mystery transaction that is currently limiting my account but does not actually exist.
I am still waiting for the half brained standard robot response from one of their goons.

Anyone else had this problem and had success

Hammer

ps. just to note that when the email came in i manually accessed my account and did not access via links.

Was the email 100% genuine? Did it address you by FULL name?

If not, it's a scam.

Edit: Just re-read. Is it defiantly limiting your account? Phone them :)

Our US business account did something similar to us. I think PayPal have had a bit of a security scare because we were asked to login and provide new information etc (again, definitely a legitimate email and I logged in via my own links). It always failed at the final step, so I had to call them.

Took quite a while to get past the first liners but their upper support staff are good and know what they are doing.

Could it be from the £1700 income limit? Paypal accounts have a lifetime limit of £1700. They suspend you and you have to send loads of ID across to their support. Then they kept asking for more stuff and finally withdrew the suspension some 4 weeks later. This happened to me when I was at the 8½ year mark of being a customer when I hit the £1700.

Hey Guys
Email is definitely genuine as I was a bit sceptical at first so i went to my paypal account myself rather than following any links.
Account is definitely limited and we have gone through numerous checks in the past to increase our sending / receiving limits. When we changed our account to a premier account we went through even further checks. I wouldnt mind but the payment is for only 5€ and we have been making this payment to the same person for the last 5 weeks.
Managed to get an email off to them after talking to that damn robot thing and I am hoping that they can sort this out. It is stupid that they are giving me a link to resolve the problem yet it is a link to an invalid transaction ID.

Last time I had a Paypal issue I took the radical route.
Called them up on the phone and let them resolve it for me that way.

Decided on the phone route and person asked me to hold. Then got back to me and said "someone is replying to your email now but I cant tell you what they are saying but you will be getting a response"
I got the response 10 minutes later
"I added your email to the case in order to be reviewed for the
department that works in this kind of issues in order to sort it out..

The case is in Review and they are going to contact to you soon."

So what that means is "Duh we ´ave no idea whats going on and no idea why we are asking you to confirm a transaction that doesnt exist"

Is it the company thats crap or the employees or even both? If I was still in the city and a CV came across my desk with a mention of Paypal in the employment history it would go straight into the waste.

Account fully restored.

Would be curious to know why they have fooked up as would have thought I would be entitled to know what happens with my own account but chances are they would shut it down so will just accept that Paypal are *****.

lol they really are terrible. I bought an item from someone else on the MM for a tenner, and for no apparent reason my account got suspended, the money held and a response demanded from both parties  Ah well, it happens.
