Hi,

Been googling this a for a while and can't find anything.

Say I have an eBay store where customers checkout via Paypal.

I've also made a ecommerce store that uses website payments standard and processes IPN data (uses the same paypal account as the eBay store).

In the Paypal account I've set my IPN url too (the my IPN script).

When someone buys an item from the current eBay store will this send IPN data to my IPN script?

Am thinking to be safe, I might ask the client to setup a new paypal account.

What are you thoughts.

Thanks

EDIT: holy crap, this post has already been indexed by google - only took 12 mins! :)

Heh :D.

No, They are seperate transactions and will have seperate ID numbers.

I use eBay and IPN Standard payments through ZenCart to the same address. eBay processes the eBay one, and Zencart processes the ZenCart one.

The IPN script I use in a similar scenario (an established ebay trader that wants an online store setup) currently adds ebay transactions into my database.

As the store is a work in progress for a family member I haven't tweaked the script yet, but as all the transactions from the ebay side of the business include the variable "for_auction" => "true" I will alter the script to die/to not add a record to the database if that variable is set (to true).

aha!

Knew there'd be something! Will check that out.

EDIT: just checking, is that one of the variables not sent by default, as in the raw response (which i awlays store) for_auction isn't present. I assume this would just appear when there's a payment directly from ebay?
