Paypal Shambles

Nothing much to do with Overclockers here except I usually use Paypal for most of my online purchases including Overclockers.

It seems that I made a huge mistake registering my home landline number with their new security system, because there is a bug in it and it doesn't work the way it should. I am locked out of my account completely until they fix the problem. CS can not even allow temporary access. Thing is they have no timescale for fixing it. I am so furious with them I think I might finally ditch this American horror show and revert to using my bank card.

Just a rant!

Why would you use PP over Mastercard? One has 5yr payment and fraud protection for free and section 75 charge back capability. Using Paypal breaks this and leaves you with less rights.

PP suck, Also are known for being political and closing accounts of people they dislike. Another good reason to boycott.

Cannot remember who it was, Was it not Tommy Robinson or something that had his Paypal shut? Someone on the right had thiers shut i got a good memory and they did it i just can not recall who.

*Edit* Yea i was right they banned Tommy Robinson, Proud boys and Antifa. So much for being just a payment platform there is no such thing these days.

I'm in the same situation.

Lost my phone and cant get into my account.

When I logon it asks me to enter a code sent out via text or phone call.

Why not email as one of the options ?

I try to call them but on the phone when it gets through I get a message saying to call back within office ours which I am doing.

Crazy.

So all people that anyone in their right mind would distance themselves from. This improves PayPal's image more than it harms it.

Don't like it? Start your own payment processing provider then. This is private capitalism 101.

They get to keep your cash if they make it hard i guess. Best i not use them i was always scared about losing my phone at least on two factor elsewhere i got backup recovery codes.

Have you written to them? Not email but an actual physical letter?

not helpful - but lots of people with similar issues per links in ebay thread about paypal eg
setup something like authy, for transportable 2fa.

paypal offers(ed) free returns, which is very useful over Mastercard / new ebay payment system.

I am also haveing security problems today - I have used PP on Ebay for ages and now I have to put in phone code - trouble is even after double checking what I enter it says error -do it again and error again so ticked for the phone call and that worked fine -
Anyone any ideas please.
I dfon't think it's any more of a hassle taking the phone call but much prefer sms.
