I have sold a laptop on eBay.

The buyer has paid via PayPal. PayPal say they will release the money 1 day after delivering.

Is it safe to ship this, I have never come across it before.

Yeah pretty standard stuff. Just make sure you get signed delivery that’s tracked and insured for such an expensive product.

Pretty standard for valuable tech unless you are selling all the time.

Does the buyer have good feedback? If a newish buyer, is feedback from sellers only and if you check the sellers feedback has the buyer left reciprocal feedback?

Special Delivery with enhanced compensation or DPD/UPS again with enhanced compensation.
 
The only thing I would do is documented proof of serial number/identifying markings, along with proof of condition.

Then package well and ship.
 
Always send stuff tracked and insured to a suitable level, provide the tracking number.

On some bits I've sold recently (niche networking kit), I've photographed all the parts and serials close up, uploaded to an album and shared with buyer before dispatch. Just to make sure they know I know what I've sent them ;)
 
PayPal did this to me had to wait 28 days to get the money, I couldn't make them understand it was a collection. The seller could not make them understand. So strange.
 
Make sure the address is the verified address on the Paypal account. If you send to any address other than the verified address then you have no seller protection.

It also needs tracked delivery. Photo evidence is never taken into consideration as photos are not proof of condition, its a thing people do without realising that there are people who photograph one item and send another.
so it wont be taken into account unless you have an original invoice or official warranty paperwork with the serial number on it to back it up.

Cash on collection only. Without proof of postage, there's no seller protection.

I had to refund someone this week who paid by Paypal despite the listing stating cash only. They were happy to pay cash instead. Unfortunately, Ebay forces you to offer Paypal.
