The PayPal Top Up card is a new product from PayPal. It gives you control over your money, use it like a debit card to make withdrawals from your PayPal account, or use it at home or abroad wherever you see the Visa logo.

Anyone have one of these?

Seems a great idea personally as can use my Paypal funds ANYWHERE which accepts VISA.

Have one as well, brilliant. No fees for using it online unlike most prepay cards, and top ups are normally on your account in about 48 hours.

Very useful for the few online shops that don't take Switch or Solo, and sites you're not sure about. I just top up with the amount I need for each purchase, that way if someone does get your card details they can't get anything from it.

And it's issued by RBS so the anti-fraud and customer support is good as well. Already had RBS ring me twice to confirm online transactions in the 3 months I've had the card.

What is the actual point of this? Honestly?

Why not use a real bank instead of a place that can just take all your money at any point for any reason (which they frequently do?)

Would be handy for teenagers/children etc. Emergency money supply. No use at all for me though. I am actually able to GET credit. And have a debit card.

This. Paypal don't seem content with just stealing your money on Ebay, they want to help themselves to everything you own.

You must be seriously daft in the head to use one of these. :o

For anyone selling on ebay a lot, is a quicker way to access your money rather than waiting for it to be transfered to your bank.

THATS THE REASON WHY I LIKE IT.. Nothing to do with doing my lifes banking with it.

Why get a prepaid card when you've got a debit card?

You might as well just use cash if you don't have a debit card, why put cash on a card if you're going to spend it in a shop the same way you'd spend cash.
Really doesn't make sense to me.

Right, I'm having trouble filling out the application for Paypal prepaid card.

I'm stuck on this bit: Load Amount (min £5, max £1,000) , what do I write in the box?? I've tried '£5 £100' and '5 100' , I keep getting a CONFIG ERROR: Invalid minvalue & maxvalue configuration error :S

Cheers

Oh god.

Don't get one if you can't work that out. :(
