hi guys

why does paypal withdrawal time constantly change?

my bank is confirmed, and ive used the same account for years..
i have been selling a few items on ebay just recently..

first few sales i made, a few days ago, paypal withdraw to my bank, took less than an hour, when it stated "will be available in your bank in 2 hours"..

but yesterday another item sold, and paypal withdrawn stated "wil be available in your bank in 24 hours"...

and tonight, sold another item, clicked to transfer money to my bank. and it states "will be available in 72 hours"...

why does it keep changing??
its normally "within 2 hours"....

its 12.34am.. tuesday, so definately not a weekend..

normally its instant.. states 2 hours, but its normally in my bank within 2mins..
the first one was a couple days ago.
and now they are prolonging it???

ive had my account for 3+ years btw.. linked to my ebay, with 100% positive feedback..
so it cant be anything to do with that
 
Had this a bit ago when selling my steelbook blu ray collection. If I remember rightly it is a security check which PayPal manually approve rather than the automatic 2 hour transfer.

Had 1 transfer which took 4 days before PayPal released the funds.
 
It depends whether they are running monthly batch, reconciliation etc. If they are (or are due to imminently), then processing time may be extended. Sometimes they also delay payments so that they fall into the next period for accounting purposes. And then there are random authorisation checks etc.
 
Its simply that they dont trust you.

The longer waiting times are so that their systems can be sure your not a naughty boy.

I had this constantly happening, and i called them.
They basically said that the withdrawals that took longer were because they were from an IP address not linked to my account before.
And they had to be sure it was me, so thats why it took longer. Allows you time to get the email and the like so if there was a problem they could stop it.
I did a lot of this at wifi hotspots and the like.

Since i wait till i get home to do it its always instant.
