Has anyone else here been asked to provide extra information:

Passport, driving licence, Utility bill, etc ?

I did a search and one or two have, any new people had to? If you have, did you do it or just walk away?

They never asked me before and I have sent and recieved loads of transactions, now they ask and I don't want to hand my passport to a company who could do anything with it!

Has this come through as a legitamate email from them (ie addressed to you, with your name in the email etc) and also shown when you log into PayPal?

I know they can ask for information, to provide additional proof that you are you - such as when you have received a certain amount.

I know for hitting a few grand I had to provide a bank account, confirm a code by telephone etc, had to do that earlier in the year and each step was shown when I logged into PayPal.

You may have hit a larger receive limit and its what they have to do with all the anti-money laundering directives?

**** If in doubt or for more information - why not give them a ring - the UK number will be in the help section etc when you log in. ****

:o id possibly only a utility bill but only if they explained fully why :p never would i send any of the other 2 to any paypal associates :p

Yeah, fortunately I am not that stupid!

The request is fully legit, the amount was £300...no where near the amounts I have done before (lol) and now all of a sudden its a suspicious activity..I will probably just leave it, they have scammed thousands of pounds per year heh I am not going to send such sensitive information, who knows what they do with it.

scam, run....

If you fall for one of these, unplug you computer now and live under a rock, you don't deserve the internet.
I wonder how much these scammers get per year.

If you were next to me I would slap you with a large trout mIRC style ;)

I just told you, I am fortunate to know about phishing emails and all that, the request is fully legit as I logged in; everything was there (yes I logged in typing paypal not from the email, yes I checked the email is legit ) and a few other people have recieved this too.

All I want to know is whether they sent such information to PayPal (via fax).

Now, kindly walk on if you do not understand fumbles as your comments do not help in the slightest :)
