Hi all

Someone has bought something off me on fleabay, paid paypal and now are claiming that the address they gave is a friends address and they are on holiday for a few weeks so could we hold on to it for a few weeks.

Are there any problems with this? Could I get screwed over any way shape or form?

you say they've already paid?

Yeah on paypal, she lives in Hungary and is using a friends address to have the parcel sent to, I would assume it would be sent on from there. Could she claim non delivery and get paypal to get the money back off us or would a signature and tracking suffice?

well im sure if you have the correspondence to counter any claim made and have the parcel tracked and signed for there should be no problem?

It can only work in your favour, the longer they wait after the transaction the less time they have to return it or file a claim.

First of all, never sell to Europe! Nearly all the scam artistry I've seen attempted over the past few years has had something to do with shipping to Europe.

But I don't see how you can get screwed here really.

at the end of the day if your ever in doubt its probably well placed and you should just stop the transaction completely and start again?

How much is the item worth?

£50

Thats what I thought however until I get the password for paypal off my missus I don't know if that is her registered address, I think I might back off if it isn't as even though I would have tracking and a signature I would have in effect sent it to the wrong address.

just get out of there!!!! start again :)

I sell regularly to Europe. I have had to stop shipping to Italy though. Too much stuff goes missing. Its unsustainable! Apart from that, no issues!

I've sold a few rare car parts to people in France, Germany and Denmark with no problems.

For a £50 item I doubt someone is trying to rip you off.

You know the UK is part of Europe, right?

This may help: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Europe

Wow, thanks for that! I had no idea.
