I think this has probably been asked before, but I dont know what I would type to find it in a search.

Anyway, I just looked through 20 pages of the "Post your 360 setup thread" (boredom :) ) and a lot of you have your 360 hooked up to your PC screen. Now I have the same cable that does this and I tried it and it works, but I want to know if those that use their PC screen for their 360 unplug their PC cables and replug their 360 ones in for video and sound like I do or do they use some sort of switch to make it easier?

This would make life easier for me if someone can point me in the right direction on how to set up a switch to make swapping between my PC and 360 easier using my PC monitor and speakers.

Thanks.

Or if your monitor has two inputs eg DVI or another VGA then connect the PC up to the other one and use the monitor's menu or button to switch source.

Failing that, you'll have to use a KVM to get any kind of a quality display.

Thanks a lot, so its a KVM switch im looking for,but McDaniel does that work for 360 consoles? It says in the description that its for using the same keyboard and mouse aswell as monitor for more than 1 PC,

really confused :(

Thats what I was going to use, PC via DVI and 360 via VGA, shame my monitor was pants with the 360, so now its hooked up to my 21" CRT

Thanks for the replies, does anyone know if theres something as simple as this that is availible.

(I have just solved the audio problem too)

If you monitor has VGA and DVI connectors and allows you to switch between connections - connect the PC via DVI and the 360 via the VGA cable.

For sound run it via the 2 phono connectors on the 360 VGA cable into your soundcards line in port (you will need a x2 phono to x1 3.5mm cable.)

Mine is lined upo to my Dell monitor - sound is linked upto the X-Fi soundcard through 5.1 speakers (best thing is as the sound card does al the work - even the small creative speakers i have chuck out very good sound (playing a racing game it sound like i have a car in my room).

Plus via the PC for sound i also have the hardware then software/driver settings for the sound card.

they are norm used for 2PC's to one monitor, the keyboard and mouse side doesnt really matter :)

360 VGA Cable into one of them, PC into Other, then a VGA cable from the monitor into the switch and done :)

hi im using a roline data box switch which looks kinda old but does the job well and can be found on the bay with cables for penuts.
