PC-7 Troubles

Hi all,

Just got a PC-7 along with my new rig and all is running fine. I have been having troubles with the case rattling though. I know this is a common problem and a quick tap sorts it soon enough, haven't got round to blue-tacking it up yet.

However, I also have problems with the case vibrating. I'm upstairs, and it is incredibly quiet in here, especially with the fans set on low. But for some reason the case vibrates loads, making the floor move, meaning that downstairs there is a constant humming noise. I have tried sitting the case on polystyrene blocks and this helps it somewhat, but I wondered whether anyone else has any good ideas?

Many thanks,
gamer

The right side panel used to make a lot of vibration on mine until i wedged in a few tore up strips of a lotto ticket.

You could also get some "AcoustiFeet" which might stop some of the unwanted vibration.

I found that the side panels are quite flimsy on the PC-7 and also quiet a loose fit. You can stop it by adding some bulk to the panel with paxmat or similar or apparently bluetac does the same job.

Also the feet that are on the PC-7 are rock solid and don't help to soak up vibration. Get some acusti medium soft feet. These will stop any vibration and look a lot better than blocks of polystyrene.

Decouple any case fans with rubber mounts, they are cheap and do an excellent job. They also make changing fans a lot easier without any screws to undo.

Ive got the PC7 too and the side of the case that is the same side as the motherboard is as loose as hell.. ive tried packing it, bending it , smashing it with a hammer (Well no not with a hammer but ive been tempted). It just rattles like a bugger....

i tried a few things to stop the rattle, in the end i had a windowed panel which doesn't ratte at all :)

for your other issue, maybe try some FlatFeet:
