Basically a few weeks ago I completely re-installed Windows on my PC because of issues, and this time I re-directed some of my folders. This is because I have Windows on my SSD and I don't want all my program files and User data on it, as it gets filled very quick.
So I re-directed all the folders for User and Program Files to another HDD, which worked fine, for about a week. Recently I noticed one day when starting Chrome, all my extensions had gone and so had my settings, like favourites and homepages, every time I started Chrome it was like I had just installed it (because it had 'tutorial' like messages all over again) I also noticed Windows Messenger wouldn't start and would just crash. I tried uninstalling both but my PC was saying they didn't exist, however I couldn't re-install them because the setups said they were already installed! After this I noticed just one of the folders I re-directed, Program Files (x86), (coincidentally where WLM and Chrome default installed to) was no longer re-directed? However the other folders were fine
After this I deleted everything off of this folder, and re-installed it directly into the folder on the other drive, instead of using the default path so it would have to be re-directed by my PC, because I thought this may be the problem. However chrome continues to crash randomly when im browsing, and WLM refuses to work, install or uninstall!
It's all very strange and is annoying! Sorry for the wall of text, it may not even make sense, but I really need to find out what's causing my PC to play up like this... Thanks
