Im not much of a Mac user, so please dont insult me if I a masking a stupid question, or I have something utterly wrong, so here goes...
I have a G4. It was a 64MB RAM / 10GBHD Job.
Its now got a 40GB and 1GB RAM and is running OSX 10.4 Tiger.
it does it fairly well surprisingly.
Anyway, its got an ATI Rage 128MB AGP Card inside it.
Now, it seems to be the case that any GFX Card that I may want, needs to have a Mac Firmware on it... So, can I get a standard PC Card and simpyl flash it with a Mac BIOS ( Naturally I will need to find a firmware thats compatible with the given card, or vice versa ) butr can it be done, and if so, then can anyone suggest a graphics card to opt for?
Similarly, the CPU is only a 400Mhz job... Can you get faster than that, that I can simply plop into the CPU Socket ? will it require configuring or something once its in there?
