Does anyone know if there is an alarm clock program that would wake my pc from sleep mode and sound an alarm (preferably be able to choose a song), I leave my pc in sleep mode so this should not be a problem correct?

Thanks

im trying to remember, hold your pants on!

edit: i might have done it via the bios (seems more logical) or this: Start Menu > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Task Scheduler. then got winamp to play on wakeup with a plugin. Ill do some research ;)

winamp: resumer plugin? rings a bell, i used it with winamps auto startup function, and it carried on from where i was previously

http://nunzioweb.com/daz/timerestore.html could work in the same manner?

which OS are we talking about? I think I used to do a similar thing to Psypher5. This was v easy to do in XP, and the principle is the same in Windows 7 (and Vista I assume).

You create the playlist you want run, then create a new task in the task scheduler. The task is made to 'run' your playlist at a certain time, so you just select the playlist file. Windows will automatically run it in the program the playlist file is associated with (e.g. WMP, winamp).

The final step is to right click on your newly created task and go to properties. Then,
in XP: Go to the 'settings' tab. Look at the bottom and check the "Wake the computer to run this task" checkbox.
in 7: Go to the 'conditions' tab. Under 'power', check the "Wake the computer to run this task" checkbox.

The computer should now wake itself automatically at the time you specify and run your playlist.

I'm interested to see if Psypher5's method is different from this..

EDIT: Just read Psypher's last post. Looks like the method I used was to get windows to run a playlist directly while yours is to run the program and have the program automatically play?

i think its basically the same :P except i used a winamp thing to resume where i had left of :) I could set a song before i went to bed, at say 0:01seconds into it, and it would picup from there. Instead of listening to the same set of songs over and over.

Fair enough, keeps things convenient i suppose :) should be enough info posted for the OP to get a working alarm clock :D

(cant remember why i stopped using my computer for that actually XD)

great idea my Samsung TV has the same functionality , Nice to be able to wake up to some Aussie erobics on sky sports -:) starts my day off Great.

Ok, I've got as far as making a Wmp Playlist and telling it to start that when it wakes up, it plays, but not in Wmp, and I cant find what is playing it to turn it off, any ideas , what I would like it to do is start Wmp, and play a specified playlist using it, or if Wmp is already open, open and play the playlist.
