So I've noticed as of late there's a growing trend of console owners making all sorts of amazing claims about what their little boxes can do and often console owners start screaming at PC owners and not just on forums but actually face to face.

I've actually seen this when a GAME employee was informing a guy of which platform to get a particular game because he was asked "which platform do you think this game is graphically better on", Naturally the employee said the PC and the person in favour of the console literally started shouting at the guy, Was very embarrassing to witness.

Why is this a growing trend among console fans that they feel the need to do this ?

I'm about to buy an XB1 for the Halo series as I'm a big fan but would never start a screaming match over a game because for 1 I'm an adult and 2 it's pretty pathetic.

Thoughts ?

Thread title implies both sides being guilty of this, OP reads as rather more biased :p

Never noticed it, and I'm living in a country where half the adverts I see on TV/online or even hear on the radio are about video games. Doesn't strike me as anything new though, pointless fanboy arguments have been around as long as I've played games.

Yeah I think I am a little more biased towards PC because in all honesty all the really immature behaviour I've seen is from the "Console Pro L33T" :p

I think consoles are great for racing games, but the rest IMO just "work" better on PC! Fps especially! I've got nothing against either one of them and having rage attacks over something like that is just nuts

Indeed, I've just ordered myself an XB1 so I can do campaign co-op on the halo collection with a mate in the states but it amazes me when I hear people say incredibly stupid things like "Consoles can do 4K 60fps no problem they are just holding back until better TV's are released" No joke I have actually heard that one

I'm curious though, Dicehunter. What age group were they?

The employee must have been mid 30's and the buyer must have been around the same age just from a glance though.

I work in my local Tesco electric department and you would be surprised how aggressive some people can be.

A frequent example is when customers find out I'm a PC gamer after asking what platform I prefer. It's like YouTube comments culture has transferred to real life, they can get seriously insulting at times and I've lost count of how many times I've had to call a manager/security to defuse situations.

They really do shout/scream at you over this (which is weird because I'm a very broad 6'5" guy)

I really don't get it, how people can become pieces of crap over something so insignificant like what platform you play games on in your spare time.

I'm guessing it's down to immaturity and I think it's some sort of problem within society and showing respect to your fellow man/woman which a lot of people tend not to do anymore.
