Hey folks,

Recently had a baby and so not always going to be able to blast music/movies/games out of the sound system. Any recommendations for a gaming headset? Mainly play Xbox through an amp but also occasional PS4 and PC. Not sure about connectivity regarding all of the consoles etc. Do I need to connect to the amp or direct to Xbox? But also need chat so assume need to connect to Xbox controller?

Any info would be welcome! Thanks

Thanks for the reply, I should have mentioned that I’m expecting to be made redundant soon so my budget is a max of £50.

With lots of sources an AV Receiver with surround decoder is a good bet. But, you'd need to switch the mic around each system unless you had a splitter device. I only mention it as you didn't state if you wanted a mic.

As far as headsets go for £50, i'd just go with whatever is compatible with every device. I'd also take into account we don't know the future compatibility for PS5 and Xbox.

Until you have more cash, i'd sit on that £50 knowing you will be redundant anyway.

Sorry for the delay, been dealing with redundancy stuff.

As I’m going to be home a lot more I def want to get a headset as I plan to play some games but don’t want to disturb our baby.

To narrow it down, I need a fairly cheap headset that works with both Xbox and Ps4. I do need a mic as chat whilst gaming.

Any suggestions?

One of the HyperX Cloud headsets would probably be best choice, that is assuming you are still wanting to stick to the original £50 budget.

Original Cloud headset would be best for quality, but they are not far off £80. There are some used like new Cloud's on the famous site for £57. Either that or Cloud Stinger for about £40.
