PC anywhere in your home

I'm not sure if this is already possible, if not it should be.

I'm not really a fan of laptops but its cool that they are small and portable, I dont like that they are very upgradable and expensive to get a good spec.

So we have wireless keyboard and mouse but can we have wirelss video? Its possible to transmit AV from a TV to another room but can a monitor signal be transmitted?

Imagine having your powerful pc in its big case sitting in one room and using it from anywhere in your house without having to move the case, you could have your pc in a spare room and use it in your living room or garden, it wouldnt matter if your cooling was noisy either as you wouldnt hear it. They could make laptop shaped devices that dont have the cpu and mobo and stuff but are just a screen with keyboard, mouse and speakers and battery powered so it could be moved anywhere and just transmit the video from your pc to it.

Is this already available and I have missed it? Is it even possible?

You can transmit video signals wirelessly e.g. stream from your PC to your TV.

However I've never heard of what you are describing, it sounds something like a dumb terminal but not quite given you want a device that is like a laptop but without the main point of a laptop i.e. you can use it anywhere. For your idea you'd still need the battery, possibly some sort of processor to decode the wireless transmission and the wireless transmittors, I'm sure there is a market for it but I can't help thinking it will be a somewhat limited one.

it is posable. there are devices out there to do that. but it wouldn't be cheap.
